Setting up DNC for continuous part production

Next make sure the DNC mode of the Calmotion unit is used. The DNC mode will automatically send the same program file over and over again. But the end of program G-code must be in the program file so that the CNC stops at the end of the program. Otherwise, the program will run over and over again.

Note: On the Fadal products, there is an option to only disable the automatic repeating of the same file. This is only for very specific instances. Do not use the DNC=ONE TIME featur…

Purchased a used Fadal machine with the Calmotion USB or LAN product installed? But need HELP?

If you just got your machine and it came with a Calmotion USBCNC-FAD or a LANCNC product, but the original owner gave you no instructions how to use the unit?

Search Youtube for "Calmotion USB" there are several videos including diagnosis problems to be found there.

  3. Find the baud rate currently set by entering every possible CD,# until the unit responds with…

How to save a program or offsets to Calmotion unit, using FADAL Punch command

When using a Calmotion unit with a Fadal, saving a program or tooling offsets works the same. The command that needs to be used is the Fadal PU command. The PU command has several parameters, the first parameter is what is to be punched out of the control and saved to the Calmotion Disk. This can be the current program, and/or tool and fixture offsets. The second parameter is filename, which can be letters and numbers, but follow the 8.3 format for the filename, like this 12345678.ABC

PU command format, the first parameter is type of data to save, the second is the filename to save it to:

PU,#,FILENAME+

First parameter # of the command:

0 = current program, tool and fixture data

1 = tool and fixture offset data only
