Using DIR command and how to save a program to the USB disk example

The 527F directory gives access to the USB disk, SD memory, or network FTP servers. To get

to this directory the DIR command can be used, or access with the 0-DISK command when

displayed on the Editor menu.

When the Directory is displayed the available devices that can be switched are listed at the top

of the directory listing. They are highlighted with [ ] around the device. Shown below the [USB

FILES] is available, the current directory listing is for the SD memory disk.



Switch to Device to Display Directory Listing

Highlight with the cursor the device listed at the top of the directory, the select

6-SWITCH TO [xxxxxx].


SD Directory

The SD disk directory is the resident location that the 527F control uses to store files as

well as system files. It is required to be inserted while using the control. Access to this

disk can be made with a network connection from a computer using a FTP client like

Windows File Explorer.


USB Disk

The USB disk can be any USB disk that is inserted into the controls USB port. When the

directory is switched to the [USB FILES] the USB disk contents will be displayed in the

directory list.


DISK FUNCTIONS

The cursor > < identifies the current selection. To move in the directory is the same as if

in the editor for U-up, D-down, T-top, B-bottom.


To load a file that has O# programs or tooling data into the memory of the control, use

the 1-LOAD INTO MEMORY function. Once an O# program is loaded, it can be edited,

accessed with the PR command, or run with AUTO.


To save programs or tooling data, use the 2-SAVE TO FILE function. First highlight with

cursor a file that will be overwritten on the directory list, or enter the file name to save to

using the 5-TYPE IN NAME. Or after selecting 2-SAVE to File, the option to enter the file name will be given.


To run a program directly from the disk without loading it into memory, use the 3-RUN

FROM FILE.
