LANCNC-RMT
The LANCNC-RMT controller allows
operators to request files from
any server on a network via a
wired or wireless Ethernet
connection. CNC files can be
accessed from single or multiple
locations on the network. An
operator can view server files
from the LANCNC-RMT display and
select the appropriate file to
be used. A single
file location allows programmers to
more easily control CNC file versions.
NLP - Network lag protection
The LANCNC-RMT employs a unique design to provide network lag protection. CNC controls can be extremely sensitive to the flow of data through the RS-232 port. This is especially true during DNC (drip feed) operation whether software or hardware flow control is used. Any disruption to this flow can create problems in the parts being machined or increase part cycle times. The LANCNC-RMT overcomes any network delay or Ethernet to serial converter delays by buffering the entire program at the machine prior to operation. The LANCNC-RMT is a dedicated computer that responds immediately to changes in data flow requested by the CNC resulting in the highest possible throughputs.
User Configurations
The LANCNC-RMT can be configured so the files and directories can only be selected from specified server locations. In addition, files stored by the LANCNC-RMT can be accessed by other LANCNC-RMT units if this feature is turned on by the system administrator. The LANCNC-RMT can also be configured so that files are never stored on the unit and only one copy of the original file is used. FTP password protection can be enabled by the system administrator to prevent unauthorized access to CNC files.
File data is stored locally on a standard SD memory card. In the event of a network crash, data can still be accessed by the CNC which eliminates risk due to network outages. Files can be added manually without the network if required by removing the SD card and updating on a PC.
